Barry Bonds Indicted

Am I the only one who gets sick of such blatantly obvious crap in the world? RIGHT NOW you can go to any newstand and pick up a copy of various muscle magazines where people are ULTRA-JUICED and the whole magazine is about how NONE of these guys do juice... it's all commitment and chicken breasts.

Then of course the back half of the magazine is ads for scam products showing before and after results with supplements whose names are a play on the real thing... meaning real juice.

And yet with so many things everybody turns a blind eye to it and pretends like the obvious is something else... like desire and chicken breasts.

None of the magazines (except perhaps natural bodybuilding mags) say the guys don't do juice, they just don't promote the fact that they do.

I absolutely agree with those before/after shots and I always laugh my ass off when an informercial tells us the latest greatest ab roller will have you trade your 30 pounds of fat for muscle!

I laugh even harder when it's just a pill you take:

"You don't have to exercise, change your diet, or even get your fat ass of the couch and you'll be ripped in 30 days!"

For the average person , the magic ingredient is

Eating 5 to 6 smaller meals a day that spreads your calories out (Protein with every meal).

Drinking a gallon of ice water a day.

Actually lifting weights - It surprises me how many people never lift to stay semistrong. I don;t want to bea meathead cyborg, but to be completey weak or lacking any muscle is beyond my capability as a dude.

You don't have to be Arnold; but do some push ups, some curls, some military presses a couple times a week.

Actually doing Cardio - Shocking isn't it. Walking, running, tennis, something. I don't think man was meant to sit in a cubicle all day and then go home and sit on a couch; call me crazy.

-

No pills or supplements needed other than Vitamins for nutrition.

Yes, for the average that is all true.

We start losing muscle mass by our late 30's, so resistance training is essential, not just to look good but to maintain both muscle and and bone strength. It's a losing battle, but it's better to go down swinging.

As for the magazines...if they don't have cameras in the ads, I don't get them.

...or 80, but with the body of a muscular 35 year old, thanks to your good buddy, HGH....

My Barry Bonds problem

My Barry Bonds problem

I don't like following this story. Maybe he screwed up. But all this zealousness to hang him.

They're tearing down genius. That sucks.

It isn't whether or not he screwed up by using Illegal Substances; but whether or not he LIED to a Grand Jury.

Guy is an arrogant prick who more or less told everyone involved to go flip off. He took banned substances, knew it was illegal, knew it was wrong and has lied about it the whole time.

. ....who gives a crap about a stupid sport?

I assume a whole bunch of people that watch espn.......

I believe it's more about Americas facination with having a villain then anything else. Good over evil and all that crap.

He's definetly the scapegoat, and rightfully so, however as John said, he could have come out and admitted he did use and he wouldn't be indicted now. I wonder how much time they spent investigating him over guys like Palmero and McGwire that also testified? His prickishness definetly makes him look like the villian, thats probably one of the reasons I think he such a dick is because I cannot stand proffesional athletes that act that way, show some class.

What kind if time would a conviction of perjury bring?

He could go away for about 3 years or so. But I doubt that will happen.

The dumb thing about this is that the substances that he took (or that he was asked about) were not even banned at the time (IIRC).

It is a witch hunt and the world is unfairly heaping their collective derision for ridiculously paid, seemingly arrogant athletes on ths one man. But that does not change the fact that he most likely commited a crime. If convicted he deserves the same sentence any of us would get.

I think a lot of this stems from the fact that he has a poor relationshi0p with the press (and hence the public), but the other part is that he took his title from Hank Aaron. Hank is a classy guy who showed immense courage in winning that title despite death threats and a lot of derision. And obviously without steroids. Barry pales by comparison.

He should have taken my suggestion at the time. Since he no doubt took steroids, and had controversy along with media hype all over his back. He should have made a public statement that he will retire before breaking Hank's Record. The people that hate him would show him more respect. The people that love him would still respect him, and its a win win situation. But he is a greedy child. Proves that in any interview with how he treats people.
So much to say with this situation, but I'll end with the fact that he needs to pay for his dumb mistakes.
