GH2 Banding Issue Help?

I was shooting an rave event last night with many flashing lights and strobes. I shot in 1080 24p, shutter speed of 1/50. I noticed a lot of banding. In reading, I just want to clarify that if I move my shutter speed down to 1/40 or 1/30 in these types events, this will take care of the vertical banding issue? Will I still get it when I say go up to 1/80 shutter speed?

Nothing you can do about it other than have no flashes, or cut out the offending segments. Which at a club could be just about all of it if they have strobe lights going off... The best thing if you will be shooting in those situations is to get a ccd based camera that has a global shutter. Panasonic HMC150 is the least expensive that I know of...

I've found shooting at 50i can sometimes clear that up. The downside is your using a lower bit rate.

As told above; yup. You can try adjusting the shutter, but there are probably just too many quick flashes to fix it.
