Hey there,
I was wondering... I've ingested all of my footage from a P2 card using P2CMS into a database on my internal hard drive of my PowerBook (a mac).
Now, of course, I'd like to back it up. I have two external hard drives, but I feared just copying the database folder over because of what I had heard about copying data using the Finder from a P2 card.
We're shooting on an HPX500 with 16GB cards, and our plan is such:
1. Once close to filling card #1, ejecting card
2. Inserting card into PowerBook, ingesting into P2CMS into database on the internal harddrive & into subfolder by card # (roll1, roll2, etc.)
3. Labeling clips by scene, take #, notes, etc. in P2CMS
4. Copying database (using Finder) over to external hard drives (only the new subfolders and the p2database file)
5. Format P2 card & eject
6. Start from beginning with card #2, etc.
Is there anything wrong with backing up said data using Finder? If so, what's the better method?
Also, any concerns about the overall workflow?
Thanks a ton.
