let's be clear, this is not a perfect solution, so stow the skepticism please.
Unless canon gets it together with an official power zoom parfocal lens, why not tinker with the B4 option
Yes, i am aware MTF made an adapter, it's also quite expensive, maybe i'll try it out in the future, but for now, let's stick with the glassless adapters for around $200. Check.
B4 lenses, this is where i would love some oldschool expertise. super range is not necessary, apertures already seem fine, i'd aim between a 1.4 and 1.8, so after extender light loss it's still well within usability in the world of these C camera's iso. What am i missing? never owned a b4 lens, and seems some gold can be had for under a grand.
expectations: at first, it's just tinkering, i'm looking to see what resolution there is to be gotten with just the doubler, seems after post cropping, a final resolution of about 1440x810 can be expected. which is plenty for a number of client based projects i do. later on i can try adding in the kenko 1.5x to get the full resolution out of it, but of course then loose that extra stop of light.
GH2/3 users have been getting some interesting use out b4 lenses, anyone out there getting use out of them as i've outlined? Anything missing? anything completely incorrect?
