I'm offering a special 10% discount to dvxuser members on the B4 to micro 4/3 lenses, adapters and accessories that I sell on eBay. The heart of this system is the B4 to micro 4/3 adapter. The adapter is made of Duraluminum ( alloy of aluminum and titanium ) anodized black and blue, and manufactured in Europe with pinpoint precision ( 0.01 mm ) and high strength to support heavy video lenses.

I have Professional B4 lenses from Fujinon and Canon in stock. These lenses cover the entire micro 4/3 sensor with no vignetting with the built-in 2x extender. They have a fixed aperture of f/1.7 across the entire zoom range, which translates to f/3.4 with the extender engaged. These lenses are parfocal, which means that they hold focus from full zoom out to full zoom in. They have a stepless iris, for seamless exposure control during video shoots. They also have a macro mode. These are true professional video lenses that sold for $5000 or more when new. They are used but in good working condition, and I am offering them for a small fraction of that price.

The lenses range from 14x to 18x. The "35mm Equivalent" zoom range on a typical 14x lens is 34-476mm. Can also be used with the GH2 in the 1:1 crop mode in 1x for "35mm Equivalent" zoom range of 44-619mm and in 2x for a "35mm equivalent" zoom range of 88-1239mm!!

The servo zoom can also be powered with the Hirose cable and battery system I built.

Prices are as follows. I accept payment through PayPal for buyer and seller protection. Send me a PM with your order and email address or contact me at funzpoppin@yahoo.com
and I will send an invoice. Satisfaction guaranteed or you may return for a refund.

I sell the deluxe anodized black and blue adapter with tripod mount on eBay for $315 including S&H within the U.S. Cost to dvxuser members: $280

I also have a black adapter suitable for lenses without a zoom servo hand grip for $120, cost to dvx users $110

can u explain about 2x extender? do i need it to use the lens on my af100? i think i read somewhere that some adopters require a 2x extender in order to work propertly!? also as i understand u ll loose some f stops with the b4 lenses, but how much exactly? i mean as i see most lenses are f/1.7, so what f/x.x i ll get in realyty if i ll use it with af100? and 1 more thing how much power is required for servo zoom?
your lenses are SD definition right? not HD?

regards

Yes the 2x extender is required to cover the micro 4/3 sensor on your AF100. Lenses without the 2x extender can't be used on the AF100 without a lot of vignetting.
Lenses without the 2x extender can be used on the GH2 in 1:1 crop mode. This is a 2.6x crop and you get f/1.7

All 2x extenders make the image 2 stops darker because it's spreading the same amount of light over a larger area. With the AF100 and the 2x extender you will get a fixed aperture of f/3.4 across the whole zoom range. This is better than the micro 4/3 lenses like the 14-42mm, 14-140mm, & 45-200mm which are f/4 - f/5.8, a variable aperture that gets darker as you zoom.

12v power is required for the servo zoom. I can provide the battery and Hirose tp 12v cable that is needed.

Fixed aperture of f/3.4, step-less aperture (no click stops), parfocal (stays in focus as you zoom), and the option of servo powered zoom all for under $550.
Also has grooved rings for follow-focus devices.

Purchase a Fujinon 14x with adapter for $540 and I will include the Hirose power cable for no extra charge.

Shipping is included within the 48 continental United States.

Thanks.

Hi Turbodog, can you advise what are the advantages of using these lenses with the built-in 2x extender as opposed to using GH2 ETC mode aside from the crop factor (2x with extender versus 2.6x ETC) and the slight loss in light? Is there any degradation of image quality?

The main advantage of using the built-in 2x extender is that you can use the whole sensor to capture the image and there is less noise.

The 2.6 crop uses only 38% of the sensor. It's always preferable to use a larger sensor rather than a smaller sensor because the larger sensor gathers more light, has better low light performance, less noise, and allows for more subject isolation with a thinner depth of field. Larger sensor = better image quality. Also in the crop mode you have to stop the lens down a couple stops anyway to achieve good contrast.

When you use the 1:1 crop mode you are enlarging the image 2.6x but also enlarging the noise 2.6x. In bright light the crop mode may be preferable, but in lower light situations you will get less noise using the full sensor, even with the loss of two stops of light from the 2x extender.

The difference boils down to the crop mode becoming essentially a 1.3x crop.
To put it simply, the full sensor even with the 2 stops of light loss still collects 30% more light than the 2.6x crop without the extender (at the same f-stop setting on the lens).

The crop mode will magnify any lens imperfections, but the 2x extender adds more glass. An advantage of the crop mode is that you are using the "sweet spot" of the lens and cropping out the softer edges. There is less CA.

In my testing, I have a preference for the full sensor in artificial light and the crop mode in daylight, but I advise trying both and using what looks best for conditions.

If you'd like to continue this discussion, send me a PM or start a new thread. The "for sale" section has posting restrictions. Thanks.
