F3: B&H has listed F3 as "discontinued".

I've had that exact same Nikon 80-200 since 2003. Also the push-Pull 35-70 f/2.8, 17-35 f/2.8, and the 300 f/4. All full frame lenses and great for stills, but I'd never use them for video.

Google lens Rentals reliability. Some better data there.Interesting stuff . seems they expect modern glass to last a couple of years which is my basic point. I expect 20 years.

The F3 is an amazing camera but I would no way of paid the $4000 grand for one when they are going used for much cheaper. I think I payed around 1600 for mine used which is a steal for the quality this thing puts out. I would like 10 bit internal but wont complain at this price haha

If you guys are beating the crap out of your lenses so much then it's really time you looked into proper cine lenses (hey, a bad pun!). Proper beefy mechanics is one of the chief value points of cine lenses. You pay for it in weight but the additional financial outlay if balanced by their longevity and retained resale value.

What would you rather buy, one solid car that lasts 20 years or 10 cheaply made plastic ones that run fine for a few months and then fall so to crap that you're forced to replace them after two years? Give me something solid any day.

Oh, and the F3 was an amazing camera at its release and still remains a great value.

Sorry to Jak the thread :(

I had and f3/shuttle/vlock and it was pretty horrid imo. Too heavy for solo work, weird slog1 and just pretty soft compared to a bmc which is basically a shuttle and a sensor for 1/4 of the mass and 1/4 of the price

there are a few f3 threads on the "shot on" section of the board and still 60% of the shoots have bizarre colour

I enjoyed my F3 very much and did some nice work with it as this intensive piece:

But today it feels rather dated regardless of the fine image it can output and I wouldn't want to get another one, even if dirt cheap.

The recent opinions is what made me have a really good financial year so Im happy people think its outdated and cumbersome :)

Can't say it's a good deal, but to be fair, the page you're linking is for a PMW-F3 and a O7Q+ kit. It's a bundle. So, doesn't directly compare to the $4k pricetag for just an F3.

It's the same link I posted a few days ago...the same bundle was for $4k-$5k. Probably a mistake on the website and they changed it. Adorama hasn't sold just the body in forever. Only B&H recently did and now it's gone.

Ooops!!!! My mistake. Must have been half asleep.

Alright. I know the Gemini was a great piece of gear, and still can be... but that's a terrible bundle price for January 2016.

You mean you haven't heard about the new firmware update from Sony?
