Does this mean Canon could soon be releasing a successor to the C300?

That's a pretty steep price drop. The C300's price tag is now what the Canon 1DC used to be brand new.

Maybe it just means that they've sold a lot of them and have recouped much of the R&D costs. Maybe they just want to push some more out there. Maybe the world is about to end the Canon engineers want to have more beer money on hand.
