FS7: B-camera: need your expert advise :)

Remember the internal 400 Mbps 10-bit 422 60p is only going to be introduced later in the summer, when - according to Panasonic - new,, fast enough SD cards will be available.

May I ask you another lame question, guys? Thanks :)

I never dealt with lenses other than full frame, so am not sure about those rated as "M 4/3" or "APS-C", and specifically their focal lenghts (or FOVs). Let me put it like this: assuming I'll have the 16-70mm focal length range covered on the GH5 with my 2 Canon lenses on the 0.64x Speed Booster XL, and would like a longer zoom (like some 70-200mm) to be a native Panasonic (Leika) glass - which one should I buy?

There is a new 35-100mm lens coming, advertisied as taking full advantage of the new IBIS system of the GH5: http://cvp.com/index.php?t=product/panasonic_h-hsa35100e_lumix_35-100mm_lens . It's said to be an M4/3 lens, with still-35mm equivalent of 70-200mm focal length range. Am I taking it right it will be exactly what I need (assuming roughly up to ~~70mm will be covered by my Canons), or - being an M4/3 glass - will it effectively be 35-10mm in stills-35mm terms? Or, co complement my Canon lenses range, I should be buying something longer - like e.g. https://cvp.com/index.php?t=product/panasonic_h-fsa100300e_100-300mm-lens ? TIA,

Piotr

Hi Pjotr,
I'd start a new threat for your question (s)

But having said that, you are doing it in the wrong way. I would buy panasonic 4/3 wide angle lenses and use the other Canon lenses for the longer ranges. Why use a speedbooster 0.64x ?
With the best 70-200 mm full frame canon or nikon zooms without speedbooster on a 4/3 cameran you get 140-400mm equiv. lenses.

The advantage of 4/3 is the weight and size. You cannot use a 4/3 lens on a full frame camera as far as I know.

Thanks Publimix, I thought about Speed Booster only thinking about the "speed" part of my Canon lenses. You're right they'll be much better used in a non-boosting adapter as tele-photo lenses, and I'll be buying some very wide and fast native MTF lenses instead.
