Award winning india short film

Congratulations on the film. To be quite honest, I really didn't get it, but I think perhaps it might be a cultural difference?

There were many things I don't understand, including the overall meaning of the film. From what I gather, the man has a dream and in that dream she awakens him with violence (the gun). Then the woman is in the dream, she is awaken by his force? She leaves the cafe in a reality we can't be sure of anymore, and he enters. If I were to guess what happened, I'd say that it seems in 'real life' the two of them both visited the cafe, but at different times. They both fell asleep and had a strange dream about the other, but they never crossed paths in reality.

What did happen exactly?

Some other things I really don't understand:
1) The magic Kindle. This had the elements of surreal or magical context, but nothing else seemed to occur at that level, which made it stand out as being even more strange. If that's the world he's in, I'd try to establish that more.
2) The waiter doesn't seem to mind or notice all of the gun touting or when the revolver is just sitting on the table... again... if we are living in another dimension of reality, where that could happen, it should be further established. Otherwise the audience it busy thinking "why in the world would that waiter not see that handgun on the table?" instead of paying attention to your characters and plot.
3) Why does she always have the gun, even when the tables are turned. In both his and her dream the roles are switched, however she always has the weapon. Why? And why would he not take the gun when it was given to him moments after being so scared of it?
4) The significance of the serial killer article. Is that why she has a gun? Nothing really seemed to support that except in his dream. However, she didn't seem to be much of a killer in her dream.

This movie was kind of like a dream in itself. It was strange when I was watching it, and as time passes, the more I think about it the more it really didn't make any sense. I suppose that is very appropriate, considering.

Hey,

here´s what I liked:

- The first part had a really strong idea with intense potential: Someone has been watching a loved one for years and finally approaches him. Awesome tag line!
- Soundtrack

here´s what I didn´t like:
- Some way too obvious mistakes:
> Newspaper headline, you can see parts of the original text below the glued-in piece
> Fake gun, the front end with its I don´t know what (water exhaust?). this could have been way more convicning with a little postproduction FX and smart cutting.
> Dubbed audio, it ever only works if done perfectly (by both actors and sound engineers).
> Especially in the beginning many shots were dead centered on the actors.

- As the first chapter ends, I really liked your film. As the epilogue started I thought "Oh no, not the "it´s all a dream way-out!". But then the story continued and I thought "OK, there´s more". And it continued and continued and continued....and nothing of what came made any sense to me!?
Why would someone bring a gun to this? Why would someone, who just dreamt the whole thing, threaten the eventual future wife with a bomb? Why would she really carry a (fake) gun?

- And why didn´t you stick to your first idea, which had real magic in it?

You seem to have had many ideas which all found their way into the story, even though they might just not have been helpful to the story. I quote Stu Maschwitz: "Kill your babies" (I am not sure, wether he also quoted someone there...).

Well, that´s my review straight off my mind about 10 minutes after watching it. I don´t mean to be disrespectful, only honest and yes, blunt, since I in fact was a bit annoyed, when your film didn´t end after chapter 1.

Final note: Big respect for doing such a long piece based on dialogue!

Best regards!

Well thanks for watching my film and reviewing it

This film is about a girl who is restricted by her parents(which commonly happens in India).
In India (Many)girls wont talk with strangers even though they feel like talking with them.
Many ugly(opp of beautiful) girls feels they want boyfriend some one should praise them talk with them
some one should flirt with them and they want themselves to flirt with other boys

this story is of one that kind girl

story begins with second level of dream, where the girls wears skirts lives as if she wants, points a gun at some one , plays with him etc etc - which is in her sub-subconscious mind
and in first level of dream a boy comes and flirts with her. and she is always afraid of something wrong in this that's why it happens like he points gun to her

gun is the bad feeling of not able to express that she carries with her.

and the serial killer thing doesn't have a proper payoff , I thought this whole story happens in time where a guy reads bit news on paper

Sorry for fake gun

and regarding magical kindle and waiter, as its all about dream, i want to give hint to audience that its dream, as dreams always will be improper

sorry for my english

thanks for the feed back once again :)

Interesting.

Do people break in and out of English in India like they do in the movie? I've never been.

Don't know about India, but English is the second official language... In the US, here in San Diego where there is a large indian population, they transition between Hindi and English
among themselves.

When I was in Dubai, the host I had would have half English/Arabic conversations on the phone. Often when the conversation moved to more 'technical' matters, English was used.
