I'll try to be concise, and let the geniouses that be work on a solution.
Footage: HVX-200 720p 24pn MXF footage
Edit: Avid Xpress Pro HD, 720p 23.976 project
Input: Native MXF Files
Output: Quicktime Movie, No Compression, Full Rez, No Resize, etc etc
Result: Jagged Edges
Facts:
1) When I export to any codec (ok I haven't tried every last one - but the major ones), the Avid introduces jagged edges to my footage - both raw clips and color corrected / effect modified footage.
2) When I create a QT reference file to my MXF footage, everything is fine - nice and smooth.
3) When I import the QT reference file into After Effects, and set my render output (with or without cc or effects) to the EXACT same codecs I tried in #1 in Avid, I get nice crips, non-jagged footage.
WHAT GIVES?? There has to be a way for AVID to export this, otherwise this program is ludacris. I refuse to run everything through after effects.
I am hoping that someone knows the secret full-rez switch in Avid that I missing.
Thanks in advance!
