No you shouldn't. Make sure you are looking at the QT movie in HIgh Quality mode first. If they are are still there we need to backtrack back to the orignal capture.
Yeah- something is definitely wrong that I'm doing and I can't figure it out. My QT is "digital master".
I've tried to recapture some small clips as a test and I still have the bad end result.
When I'm in Avid- I do notice on my TV monitor that every 3 frames there is a overlapping pause frame- I see it on any movement. When I pay it regular speed it looks fine, only when I frame advance. This corresponds exactly to the jitter frame I get.
I appreciate all your ideas, I really feel like I'm in over my head... ???
Then the capture was not done correctly, or the video was actually shot in NORMAL instead of ADVANCED.
Try another pass at the capture of an area that has lots of motion. If you are capturing to DV25 via Firewire the footage needs to be ADVANCED. Try the same test when exporting the source clip as QT. Again, this should be in a 23.976p project type.
No, when shooting NORMAL everything you are saying is expected. Xpress Pro will allow you to capture NORNAL even though it expects ADVANCED and it will be wrong. Shoot something in ADVANCED and try the same test. Capture in a 23.976p project and you will see that alll is right with the world.
