Whoa...

Whoa, whoa, wait...

How did I not know about this?

I was checking on Buffy Season Nine (seeing if it was a go, which it is, which is awesome), and along the way I found out that Joss Whedon is directing Avengers?

Is this old news? I so did not know this.

Super awesome. Super excited. And with mister Kenneth doing Thor too?

DC is so suck right now. lol

Love it.

Did you think it was a coincidence that Fury was in Iron Man and Stark was in Hulk?

This has been talked about for years.

Yeah dude super old news. Whedon's reportedly doing scriptwork on Captain America, too...Chris Evans is playing Cap...Joe Johnston directing...I want this to be good, but these are not hitters of RDJ and Favreau quality.

Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. One of those 'going to happen at some stage' movies.

I have yet to be impressed by Whedon's film output. His talent for making serial TV has yet to translate into the realm of feature films.

Why isn't Bryan Singer doing Avengers?

Much as I like Singer's work on X-Men and X2, I was bored silly by Superman Returns, and I actually don't think he has a natural facility for directing action scenes. I thought X3 had better action scenes (the rest of the movie is another story). Avengers would be an ensemble piece though and he's great with those. I'm willing to give Whedon the benefit of the doubt as I don't think he's untalented, he just hasn't cracked the film thing yet.

I really liked Superman Returns.
Besides, it's the ensemble thing that needs to click in Avengers. Without that, the action scenes won't mean a thing.

Trailer's out--

I like Joe Johnston's stuff. He's fun to work with.

Looking forward to his Captain America, while Chris Evans doesn't initially scream Cap to me, I think he is a terrific talent and I expect to him to kill the role, and a bunch of Nazis.

I have a real bad feeling about this. Its hard to see a film were you know that every single title character is going to be alive until the end, since they are all driving their own franchises. Either they go camp, b movie action comedy, or it will become even worse then the Fantastic Four...

Just watched Thor and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm a picky fan who like them to stay as close to canon as possible but have recently been able to really enjoy them for what they are. I'll reserve all judgement until I see it.

here's to hoping they do the Superhuman Registration Act also known as marvel Civil War, but that seems like a long way off hopefully they get there... or close.

P.s. downloading the trailer so I have no idea what is in it yet....

Trailer is out. Looks like it could be good, although nothing really stands out. It's stuff we've seen before, just more of it. Scarlett looks like a weak link and out of her depth, but, we do get to ogle her in skin tight leather, which is a good consolation.

Totally agree about Scarlett. Her black widow is terrible and not true to character at all.

But, I have faith in Whedon and think this will be a kick ass movie for both the fanboys and gen audience.
