hello all-

i am trying to convert my AVCHD footage into DVCPRO HD but can't find the software that will do it for mac. the panasonic site only has software for those editing on a PC. any ideas where i can find an avchd to dvcpro HD transcoder for mac?

many thanks,

Since I cant avoid having to deal with AVCHD anymore: Is there a way to watch the AVCHD PRIVATE folder on an intel powerbook without having to log the footage into FCP?

How would one use Toast 9 to watch the footage??? If there only was a simple transcoding app that turns AVCHD into ProRes I would be ok as well.
If possible I would like to avoid http://www.cineform.com/neohd/features.php for now.....or is this the best way to deal with AVCHD ?

VLC will play the .mts files.

Toast will transcode to any codec you have available on your system.

Toast 9 can play the .mts files as well with an internal video player app, but playback is fairly slow on my machine. VLC is better.

My main computer is Macbook pro and I have been stealing my wife's PC to use the free panasonic AVCHD to DVCPRO software. I was going to partition my Macbook pro with bootcamp, but I think I rather install a mac software.

I'm looking to convert my AVCHD to either DVCPRO or Apple ProRes. Which software would be the best???

I downloaded voltaic, but didn't see the option for DVCPRO or ProRes. Please direct me to the right way.

I use Pano HMC150 and shoot native mostly.

Thanks

Hey, how do you have an Intel PowerBook? PowerBooks don't have Intel chips but unless you figured out a way, can you send me links or article on how to convert PowerBook to Intel?

Thanks!
