AVCHD on Premiere CS5

OK, so now I see what bug you mean. Haven't replicated it here yet. But then after all the CS5 install issues, coupled with annoying audio conforming, I went back to Edius for avchd.

Does "interlaced chroma bug" affect other formats or just h.264 progressive video?

Obviously Premiere CS5 has the same issue. I was hoping they would fix it.

@Interface - there's a similarly-named but different issue that relates to DVD playback of interlaced 4:2:0 material: http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_8_2/dvd-benchmark-special-report-chroma-bug-4-2001.html

It's annoying that Adobe has apparently allowed this bug to persist through CS3, CS4 and now CS5, when even freakin' freeware decoders (e.g., libavcodec in ffdshow) avoid it. By the way it's always possible there's something funky with the particular codec setup on my machine, so if someone else gets around to confirming this with CS5, do please let us all know!

I have been updating the folks I know directly in Adobe. They don't tell me the status, but I can assure you they've been made aware of it.

That is really annoying :|

Makes me wonder what would happen if you used avisynth and ffmpegsource to frameserve the video into Premiere....
