AVCHD: Import Preference Settings for FCP7 Log & Transfer?

When bringing AVCHD into FCP what are the proper preference settings? The particular media in question is 1920x1080i 25.

In the Log & Transfer window, by clicking on the gear icon, one gets a window for Import Preferences. 3 questions:

1. Remove Advanced Pulldown and Duplicate Frames: should it be checked or unchecked"

2. Clear Logging Autofill Cache: should it be cleared?

3. If you understand the Pulldown issue, can you refer me to any other documentation explaining it further? Does it effect NTSC and PAL? Is it a "per codec" issue? This particular project was shot PAL but principle delivery is SD NTSC DVD.

I starred this in my rss reader hoping to hear a solution to this question, but see that no one has responded. Does anyone have a suggestion? It appears that there are at least two people interested in it!
 
May be I'm confused, but state side the cam records a native 1920x1080 24p. I would imagine that in PAL land it would be 25p.

This doesn't require pulldown removal on L/T. What were the cam's settings?
 
David & ctb1010, sorry about long delay in reply -- the camera settings were 1920x1080i 25. According to the camera's instruction manual, 1920 outputs at 1440 --and this jives with how FCP7 was reading it when dropped in the timeline -- and how the Item Properties read also in FCP7.

I corresponded with an anonymous, ostensibly "professional support" person, who said that one ought to select for pulldown removal to create a "film look". I have no idea (a) if this person knew what they were talking about, because he/she gave no name nor title; moreover, when I requested more details about the "why" behind the fuzzy answer, he/she could not provide any explanation, but rather, repeated the same information in a tautological gerbil wheel, to boot; I got a reply something like, "By choosing the film look you will achieve a look like a film". (b) so I don't know how he/she defined "film look".

So to me, it is still a mystery as to what the purpose of those setting options are in Log & Transfer for AVCHD.
