AF-100 can copy selected clips from the slot in use to the second slot but cannot record on both the cards contemporary. I have used this procedure in the last days while I was shooting an important project and I wanted to be sure to mantain all data: every time I decided a clip was good I copied it immediately on the second card. In this way, in case of data loss on the main card, I had a safety copy. But this is an annoying procedure and it costs time.
So I've thought that an automatic mirroring procedure can be useful and can also avoid the most of problems due to the data loss on SDHC. It could be enough to add an 'automatic mirroring function' to the menu. for example, if mirroring is activated, when you press 'stop' the camera asks you if you want to duplicate the clip and if you confirm a copy on the second slot is automatically made, without entering in the menu.
What do the DVX members think about? It could be an useful upgrade expecially for important project, that increases the data reliability. Theorically it should be an easy upgrade: the camera has already all the functions, it is just a routine.
I've also spoken with the italian panasoniv product manager and he agrees that it can be useful in some circumstances, but I'm interested in your opinions
