Autofocus Adapter

I've been a little out of touch with my research lately...any new adapters out there where I can use my autofocus Nikon lenses??

Thank you!

LA-EA2 adapter (which is already out) will allow AF with most of Sony Alpha lenses including the 3rd party lenses. Even though the adapter is available now, you need to wait for the FS100 firmware update, which should happen in January.

there's a drawback with the adapter and AF feature. The widest aperture you'd get with with AF is f/3.5. That could be a deal breaker.

yea, it totally is..looks like I gotta get better at pulling focus while gunning..ughhh

I had my first experience with a super fast lens in low-light and I just can't go back. I only want 1.8 and below!!!

Yes, that would be correct. There aren't ton of options for NEX mount.

Not a lot, but some option we will have soon:

1. 16mm f/2.8 Wide-Angle Alpha E-Mount Lens ( this one is ready in stock )

2. 24mm F1.8 Zeiss

3. 30mm F3.5 Macro

4. 50mm F1.8 with Optical SteadyShoot Stabilization

and what is important - all this lenses, ( exept 16mm f/2.8 ) have Direct Manual Focus - so, we don't need to swich to manual focusing when we need to correct what autofocus doing ...

For me this will be enough... and the rest - for my Canon L-lenses with manual focusing.. I don't think we need to use autofocusing with FS-100 a lot.. and I don't care about Alpha-lenses... :)

since we are on the topic of mounts, I'm having issues justifying the $300 for the Novoflex if I'm choosing manual aperture Nikons. Can anyone vouch for the build quality on the Bowers or Fotodiox, or perhaps recommend an adapter that does not have the aperture adjustment without sacrificing strength?

Or will the Bowers or Fotodiox be ok if I use lens support from beneath on the rail system?

Some people are stoked on the bowers, but i think it depends on the copy you get. My fotodoix is acceptable for manual lenses but when i use g lenses or any newer build nikon lens with an aperture ring, there is a little bit of place and there is a light leak too. Definitely buying a novoflex when i have the surplus of cash.
