ALL: Auto Iris too sensitive?

i found that over expose of the scene just a little make the video scene out of focus or soft a little

This is possible, on the panasonic 1/3" cameras so far, going above F5.6 will soften the image due to diffraction. I set my ND filter first to keep the aperture below 5.6 at all times, in fact i often dont go above F4.

I dont know what aperture you were running at but its possible you may have suffered from diffraction.

Could have easily been more than 5.6 even with the ND 1/64 engaged. Maybe its not an auto iris issue after all? Take a look at these 3 sequential frames - there is not nearly enough difference to account for the flutter in light levels. Thoughts? Here is the video version:

I'll tell you what it does look like, i can get that effect by switching my hpx371 to pap filter 1 and shooting a blue sky against the horizon. If im shoulder mounted and i get a small amount of hand movement (ie jitter) then i can make the horizon move differantly to the sky.
When the woman is walking towards you the trees behind her appear to be moving differantly in relation to the tree in the foreground. this was exactly what can sometimes occur when using noise filter pap 1. When using the pap 2 filter the effect is massively reduced.
I am not seeing anything else but it is late here and i am a little tired .

cheers Andy

I guess the question is, if you buy a 160, are you going to be using auto iris all the time? I ask because I don't know many of us that do.
