AC160 Auto Focus Button Extender

I've created a way to find that pesky little auto-focus button on the 160/130 cameras. I recently got my 160 upgraded with the "turbo-zoom" and like it a lot. However, while shooting, how do you quickly locate the auto-focus button. The button is recessed and quite small.

The solution, add a "button extender" like I show in this video: http://youtu.be/IOO6CI5mlVI

Now I can quickly find the auto-focus when out on a shoot. I wish Panasonic would make this button more accessible in future cameras.

Yes that looks like a very useful mod. Thanks for taking the time to video it and show us all what you have done, excellent and a really useful fix. I like the use of tactile velcro on the outside, very innovative. I guess the only concern might be what slant Panasonic might take if it ever went in for repair of any description. Thanks for sharing with us all.

The button extender can be gingerly removed if necessary I believe so I think getting the camera serviced won't be a problem in the future. Thanks for your reply.

I too, like the Push Auto button extender. It's next to impossible during a busy shoot to find and press the as-shipped Push Auto.

I would expect there are many "stiicky" but not permanent ways to apply an extender of the tactile velcro type. You could make a bunch of these and attach one each time you go out. If it happens to fall off, apply a spare.

I am definitely going to build an extender.

Congratulations DTeubner on a highly innovative improvement to the AG-AC160/130

I look forward to seeing the "DTeuber Auto Push Button Extender" in Panasonic's accessory parts list.
