Authorized Dealers - Where to buy

I just ordered a AG-DVX100BPS from ROSCOR. They are an authorized dealer, had a competitive price from what I have seen at authorized dealers, local (no shipping and a place to go if ever needed), informative sales person and not pushy at all. On backorder, told it will take 7-10 days. Added a spare battery and the Panasonic recommend miniDV tapes. Can't wait, this is a big step up from my PV-GS59! I will be using it for distance education teaching videos and also hobby. Next I will be looking for a better tripod, microphone and maybe carrying case in the near future.

There are so many experts here I decided to finally join. This forum was extremely informative in helping me decide on this purchase, a virtual thanks to all who contribute.:dankk2:

Full Compass

Just wanted to put in a good word for Shawn Tallard (tallrd) at Full Compass. Just picked up a DVX100 from him. No pressure, good price, easy to talk to.

Really impressed.

Thanks Shawn.

What happens to the price of the DVX100B after March 31st?

What happens to the price of the DVX100B after March 31st?

I am thinking of buying a DVX100B and there really is no rush. I saw the rebate for $500 and that it expires March 31st. I was wondering if anyone knew what will happen after that?

I am going to NAB in Vegas and could also order one there but that is in April so I am assuming that Panasonic has timed this rebate with something that is happening at NAB. But what?

So since I had questions about what dealers were able to offer the rebate I called the number Panasonic has listed figuring I might be able to ask if another rebate was coming and also answer my dealer questions: I called 866-339-4296 probably 20 times. I left a message once and later in the week it just says the voice mailbox is full. Sometimes you get a busy signal, sometimes you get through...very frustrating.

So I called other numbers, including the west coast office who sent me to a tech support number 800-524-1448. Although the guy was nice he had no clue really about anything having to do with dealers or rebates or NAB and didn't know who else to call. This was also very frustrating....

I am not sure what to do, if I buy a DVX100B on March 30th and find out at the show that they now offer a $750 rebate or a DVX100C is coming out (I know ther is no C, but you get the idea) I will even be more frustrated and angry. Any one have any info????

BTW, I wish I would have come across this site a lot earlier in my research, kudos to whoever runs this.

i HEARD but not for sure that it will go to a 900 rebate..... but i dont know about the software.

Hello everyone I am new to this site, and this is just the thread I was looking for. I'm going to be purchasing a DVX100b in the next few days. I did not read all 60 something pages :) but by scamming through buydig.com seems to be a good place to get one. I just visited the site but they don't have the DVX100b on there anymore unless I searched wrong. I'm in California does anyone else have expierence with any other good sites?

Thank you.

buydig is not an authorized dealer, so there is no guarantee that you will receive any rebates, warranty protection, etc.

bhphotovideo is an authorized dealer. If you buy from them, you will receive an authorized us product, that will include all warranties, and rebates.

Yes I am aware of that now, thank you. with B&H the NTSC version is not normally a stocked item so it will take 7-14 business days, i'm trying to get one before march 31st, another website in mind anyone?

I checked the Panny site today, they removed the rebate info.....hmmmm. Maybe tomorrow there will be updated info since todays a sunday.

the rebate was only good until march 31st. They should have some sort of new rebate coming soon.

Does anyone have any experience with buying the DVXb from Broadway Photo? Was the warranty included? They've got it for $2099.99.

Broadway Photo has the worst reseller rating out there. Plus you really won't get it for that price. Als you will not have a warranty regardless of the price you pay for it. They only sell gray market product.

Best,

Jan

gray market

gray market

I've had success with Amazon.com. They have through Pavillion Electronics HVX for 4299. Is that gray market?

I called a few of the "Crooklyn" stores, looking for a new 100b and none of them actually had the camera, whereas if I had ordered it by email, I would have suffered through the immediate backorder/extra accessories scam. I will pay them the complement of at least being honest over the phone about their dishonesty. Maybe they could tell I once sold used cars and can not be fooled. Anyway, the one that had it for under $1000 even admitted that it was the PAL system or something and useless in the US. But I don't think he even had it and this was an excuse to not make an unproductive sale. I think they can sense someone that isn't going to let his credit card ridden to hell and back on misc. expenses ($185 shipping, $200 battery, etc.). So the key is calling first or avoiding them altogether. These go under names like Best Price, Royal, USAphotonation, Express, Fotoconnection, Beach, Banana Boat, Blue Stripe and so on, probably changing their names as their negative reviews in resellerratings.com and ripoffreport.com add up.
Then there is the second tier that are probably grey market but MIGHT actually send you a working camera on time. Bwayphoto runs a giant ad in several magazines and I can't believe they could be a complete scam with such exposure, though they are poorly reviewed. I also give extra points to those who have actual storefronts such as Tristate and 42nd st Photo in NYC. Then there are the permanent power sellers on ebay--Digitalcorp, Shop Sunshine (aka digitalshoppingnetwork), J&K Camera who I would think and hope that ebay has evaluated and sell the functioning camera, of whatever origin and warranty, in the $2200-2400 range.
In the meantime, I'm finishing my script and hoping to find something used or hook up with a camera geek. If not, I'll blow the 2 grand or so and head down to Florida to film this thing on my own.

Does anyone know where the best uk dealers are? Which offer the best deals?

I'm at a loss as to where to look. I'm wanting the AG-DVX100BE.

Could someone from the UK please advise me?

Thanks

Found a b model, not too sure what to make of it:

http://uk.insight.com/apps/productp...=PSGDVX100B&nbs_search=C=101352&S=400028&M=PS

Reading the specs and reviewing the picture... that doesn't really sound like a B. SUSPICIOUS, ME THINKS >_>

It also doesn't say PAL anywhere.

*EDIT*
Okay, scrap that. According to to the Panasonic Broadcast website, These guys are authorised retailers. It's an AG-DVX100BE for under £2000. The details on what's included are a little unspecific, though. I may go for this. Yay or nay?

This was a very helpful guide. I came very close to purchasing grey market cameras since I thought google was somehow reliable. Some of these places have entire listings of fronts, claiming to be comparison shopping. I gotta admit that you want the price to be true that you fall for it.

thanks again, buying legitimate and pretty excited
