Hello everyone

this is my first post here and i appreciate any help

I am helping a friend and never have had this issue before with all the different cameras i have brought in footage to edit here at the studio. I deal mainly with still images but do a bit of video

I have a really simple project no major editing at all . I brought the video in to the Mac (G5 dual 2.3GHZ and plenty of drive space and 5GB of ram) the audio is several Seconds Behind the video From the Beginning. It is not getting progressively worse as far as i can tell. The video is of a dance performance for a final grade for my friend for her masters!!!!!!!

So when i listen to the tape with headphones directly from the camera it is fine , but the captured video in iMovie is lagging

I can i guess edit it with FC Express if i have to , that is if it will allow me to somehow fix the sync, tho i am more familiar with iMovie

thanks for the help ;~)

FC express should allow you to unlink the video and the audio (not sure if iMovie is the same) and you can just re sync it. But first make sure that the computer itself isn't causing the problem by playing it in an outside player to see if the audio still lags.

In imovie you can "extract audio" and it get moved down to a visible tract by itself and then you can drag it over to the place where the sound syncs up. Then "lock video to play head" and it will stay in sync.
