7D Audio solution for Shooting

wondering shotgun and pistols harm internal mic on 7D? and whats the cheapest solution for this?

Look at the JuicedLink CX231.

I doubt the loud noise will physically harm the mic, unless you shoot the camera out of frustration of trying to get decent audio from the built in mic or preamps. (lol)
