Hi everyone... I've just came from a shoot using my beloved HVX201 and encountered a REAL problem with the audio (in this case the video).
Here's what happened:
We were shooting 720/25PN (PAL) in the morning
During lunch we recorded some voice over and set the camera to DV mode due to lack of space in the P2 cards.
The camera operator reset the camera but to 720/25P instead of PN...
The editor then imported all the footage (on set) to our Macbook Pro. He didn't check the "remove frame duplicates" because he thought (as we all did) we were still shooting 720/25PN. He checked the first few clips, everything was ok so he formated the cards for the next day shoot.
We now realized that all the afternoon clips (shot in 720/25P) have the audio out of sync.
The problem is that the cards are formatted. We tried using serveral data recovery software but so far no luck...
The weirdest thing is when I scroll in the viewer in FCP there are 30 frames instead of 50 like if it was shot in NTSC instead of PAL...
Does any of you have any solution that doesn't involve going back and shoot it again or ADR?
I was thinking of a couple of "easy" ways to get out of this:
1 - A reliable data recovery method (the P2 cards were formatted but nothing was recorded over)
2 - A way of removing the duplicate frames in Final Cut Studio.
Thanks a lot!!!!
