I recently purchased the 7d and cannot get my mic to work on it. I have an adapter to xlr that goes into the mic input. I have tested my mic and it works and so does the cable. Any ideas? Should I by one of those external recorders to record my audio i hear it records amazing audio. Thanks
Sennheiser ME66/K6 - Shotgun Condenser Microphone is what i own

In my experience, get an external recorder.

The Zoom h4n is an amazing little recorder and seems to be the preferred recorder right now.
