Audio Inputs

What's the latest thinking in terms of audio inputs on Red? How is the quality of the pre-amps? Built-in limiter? Don't see much talk on this here.

Hmmm, 90 views and not one comment about audio, that does't give one a warm fuzzy. It does have analog audio inputs, right?

I have seen no information about preamps or any other analog audio stage component from the Red team.

For critical dialogue work that is going to the theatre recording double system is likely to be the normal. So in some respects many will not be too bothered about audio components being top notch in camera.

I hope red takes into account that a reasonable number of red one reservation holders will mostly operate solo. As a newcomer to all of this i can look at most things and see a reason for improvements and also for some things to remain as they are sort off. Strange though when i look at the current set up with sound i don't see the same kind of innovation that i see with the visuals in camera development. Maybe red should look towards a simple but top quality recording being capable in camera without seperate mixer/recorder. The sound experts (Jay Roses' of this world) could surely come up with a components mixture that produces great recordings in camera.

If not in-camera what about an add-on that is an option with the red one. Rather like the small pre amps type things but with limiters and whatever else you need all in a nice wee box that attaches to your red one. Or maybe red should go fully digital with it's sound?

Hey i know nothing!! but just guessing/suggesting:)
