C300: Audio input phantom power (+48v) unstable

When I connect sources that don't need phantom power(for instance radio mics), my XLR inputs works perfectly in both mic and line level, even if i turn the setting to Mic +48 everything is good. But connecting a Sennheiser mic that needs +48v I get noise in the audiosignal on CH1 and if I try to connect the same mic to CH2 I get no sound at all. If I connect an old Sony mic from a PD150 it seems to work on CH1, but if i extend its cable with an additional 2m XLR it does not work anymore..

All mics and cables are tested and working with other units..

So it seems there's an instability in the Phantom powering, anyone else with similar experiences?

And while I'm at it: any recommendations for a cheap, small minijack mic that works with the input on the C300 camera body? bought a couple from dealextreme that was supposed to be passive but still doesn't work. Don't need usable sound, it's just for sync reference..
