Audio doesnt sync to video after capturing

I am using Adobe Premiere CS4 to capture my footage, and the audio sounds ok on the camera, but once I capture it, the sound is faster then the sound. any idea?

thanks for your time

lolol.. wow, sorry. I meant the sound is faster then the video.. and as for format, I was playing around with all the options.. I didn't go into it knowing how I wanted to film, so I played with a lot of the features, but I think most of the footage was 30p

thanks for your response

lol ok, I am a dumbass..i guess i just chose whatever it was on, and expected it to work X( .. lol i admit, im newbie, but im going to learn lol.. thanks for taking the time to read

I chose DV-24P, Standard 48Khz.. I originally had it set on DV-NTSC Standard 48Khz.. i dont even know if that makes but since I know I filmed in 24p, and 30p, so I just tried it, and surprisingly it worked for me

well u need to check the settings when u film and edit and make them correspond. And since you shot in 24p then you put it on a 24p timeline. All part of the learning process. Glad you got it sorted.

A 24p sequence isn't the best for 30p material.

You shouldn't see a problem like this even if you choose an NTSC sequence -- and if you have both 24p and 30p, actually want to cut it on an NTSC sequence. There must have been something else going on.

If you go back and create an NTSC sequence and drop the footage into it, does the same thing happen again?

yeh, i have returned to say my theory didn't work.. it happened to work properly once i guess, but it isn't working again..

today i know the settings i filmed at. 4:3 Ratio, 1/250 shutter, 30p, etc.. the audio lines up to the video perfect on the camera, but once i capture to premiere, the sound is faster.. :( .. any advice?

Just to inform you on progress, when i capture on iMovie, everything is synced fine.. it doesnt capture how i'd like, but atleast i know its not the cameras fault. I tried it multiple times to make sure this time

I have a nearly identical problem to solo707. I shot a short film with my DVX100B (well actually I directed the film and hired a DP to use my camera so I'm not sure of the camera setting).

He shot on 3 tapes. I captured 2 of the 3 tapes to Final Cut Express without a problem. The third tape has the audio and video about 3 or 4 seconds out of sync (audio plays ahead of the video). Any subsequent attempt to capture ANY tape is out of sync.

I tried to capture on my friends computer with Final Cut Pro and my DVX100 and the sync problem continued.

I did a test capture to my computer with another persons camera (a simple cannon home video camera) and the sync problem did not show up then.

On another note the tapes play fine (no sync problem) in my DVX when in the VCR mode.

Clearly the DVX is not capturing properly to my computer. Something happened to my camera between capturing tapes 2 and 3. Any ideas?

Yeh, I have played around with all those options too, I don't know what else to do, but I guess for now I will just continue to shoot, until I find a solution. Atleast I've been learning a lot about my camera in the meantime
