Audio delay

I just bought my first DVX...model 100BP. I have used one for years, but it belonged to someone else. When I dial to either of the pre-set 24P modes, I get a delay on the sound. It doesn't record that way, bit it's real annoying.

My friend's DVX never did this, and it's okay in the other modes.

What's causing this? THANKS

So when you shoot you just hear the delay in your headphones, but it actually records the right way?

If that is the case, it is a setting in one of the menus I think. My DVX did that when I first got it 3 years ago, but I don't remember what the exact setting was called. It was an on/off type of deal I believe. I changed it once and have not had to since.

I am sure someone can actually give you a real answer but until then just look through the menus for audio related settings.

That delay is normal when shooting on 24p on the DVX100's. Not sure why, but it is. There's nothing wrong, and no setting to change that will 'fix' it. Fact of life.

I never experienced this at 24p after I adjusted a setting in my DVX100B the day I bought it 3 years ago. The audio I hear through my headphones is synced with the person speaking. When I first used my DVX100B, the audio had about a half second delay between when it was made and when I heard it through my headphones. I looked it up on here and found the setting and fixed it.

You have this problem?

Edit - I just found the setting I had to change. When I first got my DVX100B, in the "other functions" menu the "H.P. MODE" was set to "TAPE" and I set it to "LIVE" and the delay went away. When it was in "TAPE" mode, it recorded fine but the monitored audio was a tad bit out of sync which was annoying. In the "LIVE" setting it records the same way except it is in sync.

Was this what you were referring to

Sorry, I didn't notice you're using the 100b. The delay is normal in 24p or 24pa mode on the 100a (the one I have) and earlier models. I wasn't aware it had been 'fixed' on the 100b until I did a bit more research. My mistake.

Worked

Worked

Yes..this worked. The H.P. Mode (headphone mode) in OTHER FUNCTIONS sets the mode of off the tape, or direct to phones output. All is well. Thanks again for the feedback!!
