C100: Attaching Ninja2 to the cold shoe of c100

I have a cheapie adaptor that goes from the c100's cold shoe into the Ninja.
It's so wobbly and un-secure, that it fell off the camera during a recent shoot.
i'm constantly tightening the thing, and it's constantly coming loose.

Is there a better way to attach???

THanks!

Be careful when mounting the ninja on any of the cold shoes on the C100 body or handle. I've read stories of stripped treads and cracked housings. The ninja is a little heavy perhaps. I mount mine off a set of rails or sometimes clamp it to a leg on my tripod using a magic arm.

Whilst I agree to an extent I think you need to look at the circumstances in which those issues occurred. I for one have mounted my ninja via a short arm to both the 1/4 20 mount on the handle and on the body with no issues. I suspect those who have had issues may have had the arm extended out too far and the torque and tension may have been too much. Likewise I usually mount mine in a way that the center of gravity and torque from the arm works with the setup.

Mounting an $800 recorder to a $6000 camera... maybe spring for a more robust mount, definitely not the place to be counting pennies.

So for handheld shooting, what specific arms or attatchers are people using? And where are you attatching it to? I really want to avoid going with rails, wanting to keep it simple for handheld. Also, to complicate things, I usually am using a wireless lav receiver at the same time. Currently I use a cold shoe extender which allows me to attach both the receiver and ninja to the cold shoe, probably NOT the best idea. But I do need to have a solution for both ninja and wireless for handheld, hopefully without creating a frankenrig.

If you're wanting to go handheld and stripped down, the best solution may be to keep the camera as bare as possible and mount the ninja and wireless receiver on a belt.

The best arm I have ever used is an Ultralight Control Systems arm.

Not cheap but I have gone though two of those P&C arms and after using the UL arm I'm completely sold. Easily the most solid arm I've ever used and it seems like it's built to last.

Cinevate have something based of the ultralight design. Their 'gripstick'. I have one of the earlier models and find it surprisingly solid.

I thought of doing that, but never really followed up. Do you (or anyone else) have any suggestions for belts that could do the trick?
My only concern is having HMI and audio cables going to the belt. Hard to imagine that I wouldn't accidentally tug on those things and put strain the cables and camera inputs. Here's how I know I would do it. Hook everything up to the belt and go handheld. Put the camera on the tripod, and forget and walk away. OUCH!!!

Also, I like to be able to see the monitor on the NINJA to make sure everything is working properly, since it's a bit finicky.
So, as much as I like the idea of getting all that junk off the camera, it may not be right for me.

Hey Tim. I followed you link and saw a number of different pieces. Any particular one that you think would work for the NINJA/c100?
