C100: Atomos Ninja Star - 4 audio channels in Premiere CC?

I'm shooting ProRes LT on my Ninja Star with a mk1 C100. When I bring my footage into Premiere CC it comes up with 4 audio channels.

I need to manually select 1 audio channel and stereo to get the correct output. Why is this? Is it a bug?

On my C100 I record a shotgun into ch.1 and have ch.2 set to the internal stereo mic.

Nope, not a bug. The Ninja Star records four tracks of audio. Two from the camera and then I believe technically a stereo config from the 3.5mm jack on the side (though I could be wrong). As far as stereo/mono, that is just how premiere works with those types of channels.

Whether the proper procedure or not (I'm usually editing in FCPx); what I typically do is make sure I only have Audio Tracks 1 and 2 enabled, deselect 3 and 4, so when I drop the clip into the timeline it doesn't bring in 4 channels. Then I right click the audio clip and select "adjust audio channels" and on channel two I tell it to pull from "L input" and it becomes a dual mono track.

Ah OK. I'm surprised the Ninja isn't clever enough to only record 2 channels if nothing is plugged into the 3.5mm jack.
