Atomos Ninja petition

Something that would be essential to me to buy such a great device is 4 channels audio input. 2 with phantom power. I have a stereo mic plus two other inputs like lavaliers. This is a must to work professionally and not have all kind of boxes dangling around, like separate audio recorder, mixers and so on. Could be mini XLR or XLR or even a 5-pin-XLR for stereo - plus jack or rca or whatever. Don't care as long it is there.

you can't win them all...

I think that you are right that the ninja should have some kind of analog audio input but I think that they will be shipping in the next few months so its going to be a little late to see that on the first gen. Maybe on the MK2 ?

I really want live-view video & live audio monitoring from future Ninja. At least 6" screen. Let it mount on hot shoe.

I'm not sure about beefing up Ninja with all bells and whistles for audio. Just use it as linear PCM recorder. A separate external preamp to feed into Ninja. S/PDIF input would be nice.

No aliasing, moire and all advantages of a video camera in a video camera form (very different of a DSLR) like B. Green explains:

Correct, plus Barry provided this nice list:

Sure, the GH2 might -- maybe, who knows? -- have HDMI output kinda similar to the AF100 (maybe! grin!), but the AF100 has literally dozens & dozens of additional, useful, pro camcorder features. Hence the AF100's higher cost (and great value).

I second the request :-)

Atomos Ninja as hdmi encoder, live-view monitor, usb power provider, line-in audio recorder, audio live-monitor... at $1000. Drooling...
