Atomos Ninja Footage

I'm looking at purchasing an Atomos Ninja/Samurai and would like to compare how they hold up
with color correction and the like. To my knowledge without fast motion you really won't
notice the difference. I would like to test out how it holds up with color correction
however.

I can provide FTP space if needed.

Please PM me or respond in the thread with some footage from the in-cam codec
and Ninja.

I would like to run some tests on this investment and determine if
it's a good decision.

I'm sure others are dying to make a comparison as well. I would
gladly host this footage for others to view and run their own
tests.

4:2:2 is noticeably more robust for colour-correction. Though honestly, from what I saw yesterday - it's the workflow that's the real kicker.

You drag, drop and edit. There's no importing, no rendering every time you make a cut - it's so much faster and easier it's not even funny. The time you'd save in the edit suite would payback the cost of the Ninja in no time at all.

Is that in FCP, CS5+, or both?

Is there a benefit from using a Ninja workflow wise with CS5 and plugins.

I don't get real time playback on my Mac after some effects. Out of the cam it's real time however.

It handles ProRes just fine as long as you have the latest QuickTime installed. It should in fact handle playback of it better than AVCHD since the processor isn't taxed as much by uncompressing the video. But I'm getting the Atomos Ninja as well but because I need to do some extensive chroma work. I'm interested in if it grades better too, and will be conducting some tests in the next few weeks.

To keep the topic going, does anyone have a Ninja and some time?

Again willing to host the files just get in touch with me. You would be helping more folks than you'd probably be aware of.

+1
I'd like to see challenging situations:
fast camera movement in high detail shot
some high contrast indoor shots of windows
chroma key
it would be great to have people in shots, because skintones is most important when you're grading

it is also very interesting if Atomos Ninja is able to record smooth slow motion 200 fps? They're embeded in 1080i50 (for PAL versions)

I'm a PC guy and Vegas Pro 11 user, so I don't care about ProRes too much - but I can tell you my nanoFlash mxfs edit beautifully :)

I record 50 Mbps 422 for single-camera projects, or 35 Mbps 420 when inter-cutting with my EX1's native files... Recommended!

I'm leaning so heavily on getting a nanoflash. I just wish the price were better. I also just received a email from sony where you can buy an ex series camera and nanoflash/ gemini package with a considerable discount. Come on CD guys any way you guys can discount FS100 owners?

If they give a discount after I've ordered my FS100 the other day I'll be upset :P

Still haven't been contacted by anyone willing to 'donate' footage as it were.

Please get in contact with me so we can put up this footage there are quite a bit of people out there that would like it!

I have searched the interwebs high and low for FS100/Ninja footage. I would love to have some for testing purposes.

+1 on footage request. Would like to see low light high gain comparison.

Surprised Atomos folks have not rented a few cameras to show off what their device can do.
