C100: Atomos Ninja 2 discontinued?

[Paul Frederick]

Was checking on possibly ordering one of these for my new C100 and B&H is reporting it as discontinued by manufacturer on their site:

What's up with that? Can't seem to find any info elsewhere about it being discontinued. Is this a typo on B&H or does anyone know what's going on?

I now see that it is just that KIT of the Ninja 2 that is backordered. Sorry for the scare, it had me for a second there. Looks like other kit versions are available in about 2 weeks.

I ordered one last week. I was told the Ninja 2 is discontinued, and sales of a Ninja 2 kit are going on for the remaining stock. The Ninja 2 kit is now "cheaper", with only one battery instead of two in the previous kit, etc...
There is a thread here about that here:

That seems very strange. The cheaper smaller pack is their retail pack and has just been released. It comes with one battery and no case.

Maybe time for Ninja 3?

If the Ninja 2 is discontinued, what becomes the C100's preferred recorder? A used Ninja 2?
