FS5: Atomos mentions FS5 II in their latest Specs.

Weird how they branded this a mark 2. I remember the FS700 also getting the 4K upgrade included at some point, and they just changed a letter in the model number. Not making much fuss around it.

Yes, that was very meh. Nothing that really makes it much better better than the original.
I have the FS700, so if they are not bringing something that makes it look better (new sensor), then ergonomics need to be a vast improvement (for me that would mean IBIS and better AF). Gonna Pass on this. Not getting a new FS model until it has 10 bit internal 4K, ibis and better AF.
Annoying thing is that the new small chip camcorders got improved AF!

Sony said in press conference: "they have refined the color science, given the camera a more natural highlight roll off, improved skin tone rendition, and created a more elegant and organic looking image"

For me if this is really giving Venice color and performance (although I don't see how when Venice cost 10x more) it would be worth switching over to mk2. 100%.

you guys are a bunch of specs whores. You haven't seen a frame from the camera and already the criticisms are mounting. I think the skin tones and color profile in their demo video are beyond amazing and I generally hate Sony color science. I'd rather shoot with this than the fs7 with its wonky colors. Judge it by the image not the specs. And yes the images do kinda look like the venice form the images I have seen - but I will need to see more to satisfy myself that that's true.

Good point! If they actually improved the colors by a good margin, it would be a pretty good option.

Doubtful if they'll have improved the color science to "Venice standards"?!

Seems like this mk1 to mk2 upgrade is even more underwhelming than the FS7 mk1 to mk2 upgraded (which was fairly small, but looks like a more significant upgrade over the mk1 than the FS5mk1 to mk2 is getting!)

Strange, I really thought they'd do a bigger update of the FS5 and bring it to roughly FS7 level specs overall.

Like say the FS7 did itself to the F5 when it came out. As I said as much in my pre NAB video:
