FS5: Atomos mentions FS5 II in their latest Specs.

My wish list, as a current FS5 owner:

Timecode in/out
XAVC-i codec
Prores recording
XDCAM codec (I still get calls for this)
Internal 4K at 200mbps. I guess this would be an XAVC-i codec.

That's it, really. I like the camera, it just needs to be updated.

My predictions:

Phase Detect AF - almost certainly
IBIS - strong maybe
XAVC-I - strong maybe
6k Super35 sensor - possibly
UHS-II SD slots - probably
LUTs - maybe
R or RS sensor - possibly, they have a lot of sensors to choose from

Long shots:
Full Frame sensor - doubtful, maybe as a variant at a higher price point
ProRes - doubtful, it's just not a great capture codec in terms of data rates
TC I/O - hopefully, it's really needed

I think the Mk2 will be aimed directly at the EVA1 and to some extent at the C200. The EVA1 is $2500 more expensive than the current FS5 and only marginally better, although I haven't tried out the new FW 2.0. There is a lot of room for a more expensive FS5 with a lot of the same features as the FS7.

On the larger scheme, I would also expect to see an FS7 successor yet this year (it's the older camera not counting the largely UX and cosmetic updates in the Mk2). Perhaps that's where we will see the FF sensor? I think the F5 is largely dead at this point so maybe the FS7 mk3 will take a step up the food chain as well, being a bit more expensive but offering a unique set of features.

In any case, it's going to be an exciting year.

As a current fS5 owner I would be up for an upgrade if it allowed 4k 10-bit and IBIS. I don't expect them to add too much but they would have to add any features in the expected A7s3 so maybe 4K 60 as well. Would be worth the 2K or so I expect I'd have to shell out for the new model.

Is this legit? The camera in this video looks identical to the original FS5. Only difference I saw is the ND wheel that is black instead of silver.

No idea, but its from an Ad agency, and there is some other smaller differences, so I can only assume so (its true)

There are shots from original FS5 promo so I would be sceptical about it.

You're right. I just watched the 2015 FS5 promo. I have no doubt that a FS5 II is coming soon (probably NAB), but this supposedly Sony promo is not legit...click bait.

Yeah, if these renders on Sony Addict are anything to go by (posted on twitter a few minutes ago) then it might just be a newly blackened ND control wheel!!!! ;-)

announcement is less than 5 hours. Don't get too excited it's nothing special.

Yeah, my guess was that it was the exact same
camera but just included the Raw update and/or
continuous HFR internal updates in the price...
I think each one of these updates used to cost
around $500. But that’s all I’m expecting....unfortunately.
