Hi,

can someone with the Audio-Technica AT4053b please tell me what comes standard with the mic. I would also be interested to know what shock mount you are using and did you buy a separate windshield?

Thanks, do you know which one in the series? On the rycote website it does not list the AT4053b.

I use the Rode SM3 on a boom pole, SM4 on a mic stand, SM5 on my EX1 camera (all about 50 bucks each at B&H), or the Rode Blimp on a boom in wind. The mic comes with a clip for a mic stand, but it has no shock protection. It IS an awesome mic!

Steve,

I meant the BBG. My 20mm grommets are pretty snug. Was wondering if anyone had experience with the BBG in 22mm coupled to a 4053b?

Does the SM3 fit quite well around the mic?

Yes. All the Rode "SM" shock mounts mentioned are the same size too, they just have different ways of attaching to things. The Sm3 has a cold shoe mount, but with a screw hole for boom poles. But with my fuzzy on my shotgun I was getting hair in the shot, so I went for the SM5 for on-camera use. The SM3 is a great stand by. I have 2 of those. And for a heavier mic setup I was able to run 2 extra rubber bands on the unit for more stability.

Yes a small foam one. Not helpful outside, but it will decrease wind sound when you move the mic fast indoors going between 2 people speaking.
