I'm in highschool and I've made two features and now this short. Basically did the filmmaking thing in reverse, most people do shorts then features I did it the other way around.

Synopsis: The world is thrown into turmoil after a nuclear attack on the city of Toronto. Thunder in Ten follows a young couple in a thrilling ten minute short film as they fight for their lives and come face to face with their ultimate doom.

Shooting on DVX100(obviously) the week of the 10th.

Renting bio-chemical masks etc. trying to shoot some insane visuals!

I'll post updates if people want!

doubler83: glad you like the poster!

Casted our lovely couple that's going to endure the final minutes of the world,

Justin Field(publicity shot for another movie he did for me, hence it being so serious)

It's hard to achieve the realism of a nuclear attack without actually showing the attack happen, i'm planning on doing some radio segments and news reports on it, with some mess put into the sky using after effects?

Has anybody dealt with this sort of stuff before, suggestions?

Shot the entire film today. Hectic, got kicked out of our first location, managed to get all the shots we needed though!

Here are some screengrabs, trailer soon...

As l ong as you make references to the attack and you are subtle enough with it you never have to show it happening. As long as your actors can portray a harsh environment type emotions that would arise from such a catastrophe then you're good to go :)

Been trying to cut a trailer. It's only a short, less than 10 minutes. So cutting a trailer would be useless because I'd be revealing to much of the good stuff.

I don't think I'm gonna cut one but the full thing will be on http://www.thunderinten.com thursday march 20th for your viewing pleasure!

BTS photos soon...

The inside grabs are impressive. Looks like it's mostly existing lightings too!

Love that Velbon tripod. Videomate 607 right? I started out working with those because they were the heaviest tripod that Fry's carry. Not bad for the price actually.

I see an IKEA light on the floor. I have one too, same color.

What mic is that? Looks like an Audio-Technica to me.

IKEA light for sure! I think it is an Audio-Technica, my friend just grabbed some stuff from his school(sheridan college). I didn't get a chance to check out exactly what audio stuff we were using.

Yeah, I see lots of natural light in the settings.
That last grab looking out through the window bedazzled me! The tone and color.
