I've found this OS X widget to be extremely helpful.

It has presets for every standardized ratio and can switch between square and rectangular. I'm trying to remember where I found it but I'm not able to pull up a website or link for it anywhere.

Jared's application seems to be much more useful.

The first application is really just multiplying by 3/4 or 4/3 depending on which field you input.

Sun's. They don't provide a precompiled .deb binary on the website, so I got it from the Ubuntu repositories -- I had to enable "multiverse", and then I installed the "sun-java6-jre" package.

Once that's done, all you have to do is right-click on the .jar and select "Open with Sun Java 6 Runtime" and it launches without incident.
