Artifacts

I'm using the HVX in 720 with the Marshell monitor. Try as I may, I still get strong vertical and horizontal artifacts along hard lines, lines of writing, even between the lines of the hardwood floor. Any suggestions?

Also, when I export to FCP it says I'm shooting 720/60 but the video is at 23.yadda, yadda... Can I not record straight to 24 pfs? Or is that 24fps but the PN is the version that goes straight to the 23.yadda, yadda.
B & H still hasn't sent me my two P2 cards yet so I'm working off of a FS-100

Explain the "yadda yadda" issue.

What is "23?"
"well, there's yer problem!"

I should have known

I should have known

A crappy Jim Carrey movie is making my footage crap. I should have known.

And yes, I was being lazy and not typing out 23.976. It feels like I'm typing out the digets of Pi.

I saw someone else say that LCD tends to kick up the fuzz more than Plasma or a CRT. I have the 23.976 from 60 vs the 24 PN. Now I just want to get the artifact action down on those edges. It's picking it up along any hard edge, from the lines on the floor to the air ducts.

Is this a by-product of the 4:2:2 and I'm going to have to live with it or are there ways around it? If nothing else I can blame Jim Carrey for making crap.
