Arriflex PL Mount for the XL2

Has anyone taken the opportunity to try using this lens mount for the XL1/2? I'm wondering about the 7x on the focal distance. From what I've read, if I try to mount my 9.8mm Kinoptix lense to the XL they are saying it will convert it to almost a 70mm lens? It doesn't sound right to me, but ya never know when trying to rig something together. Any feedback is appreciated.

If you mount a 9.8mm Kinoptix lens on the XL1, it will be a 9.8mm lens.

Forget that nonsense about magnification, there is no magnification. Just think about it in terms of the millimeters. A 9.8mm lens is a 9.8mm lens regardless of what it's mounted to.

The XL2 has a lens with a zoom range of about 5.5mm to about 110mm. So a 9.8mm will be way down in the bottom portion of the zoom range. Somewhere around Z40 on a DVX.
