That first gen Alexa arrived just as I was officially moving up to DP. This pic was taken on my last job as an operator, a TV series called "No Ordinary Family" in 2010, one of the first shows to use the Alexa. The two skinny cables tied together with red tape were my 6' SDI jumpers which attached on the back of my Steadicam vest to longer and more robust cables, which would indicate that we were recording externally, probably to an HDCAM deck as was typical in that era. This clip (https://vimeo.com/334812344) is of scenes I shot on the show as second unit DP. Still looks pretty good to this day--that ALEV3 sensor, man!
Ha! Back is holding up fine thanks--13 years out of Steadicam (and handheld, equally demanding on the spine in a different way) so I got out in time I guess.
Key & Peele--pilot was 1DMKIV's, first season was Sony F3's, 2nd through 5th season were Alexas. Here's the F3 built out. (if you can find it in there!) on S1.
NOF was OK I guess--not really my cup of tea but a decent gig. I left it to go shoot a 4 day pilot--two months of operating work vs 4 days of DP work, which was a financially challenging decision, but ultimately the right one.
bump:smiley_up P.S. I missed any posts in this thread, they were removed before I got to read them so not sure what was said but I saw the notifications
