Area 51 Question (DVX200HD)

Re: Area 51 Question (DVX200HD)

Just a comment,

The design and major features of a camera are probably pretty well set 24 months prior to the roll-out. So any camera we may see at NAB in 2005 -- in production form, was finalized some time ago.

You are right about telling the manufactures what you want, but don't expect instant results.

My information is that the new DVX100B (gotta call it something) will be 16x9 but not some form of HD format. If Panasonic shows a prosumer HD format of some kind it will probably not be on the DVX platform-- but while my info is from a good source , don't bet the farm, lets see what NAB brings, tho InterBee could produce some solid tips.

so something new IS coming out pretty soon?

Re: Area 51 Question (DVX200HD)

Depends on what you mean by soon. NAB is six months away, and while the DVX was announced at an NAB convention, it took six more months before it was on the market. So even if something were to be announced, it might be a year away from being on the store shelves.
