You never know...
In the off chance a reader is at IBC this weekend and has a moment to go check out and play with the new upcoming Sony A7sII, I'd love to know the following 6 questions:
1) Is there any heat issues (similar to A7Rii) when recording 4k internally?
2) Can you change the white balance in camera WHILE YOU ARE RECORDING? This may not seem like it's important but many A7s users are event shooters like myself and cannot stop camera mid-ceremony on all of our cameras to change color at dusk as the light changes like crazy. AWB is inconsistent across multiple cameras and I was fortunate enough to have a 1 on 4 sit down with 4 execs from Sony with regards to how we use our A7s cameras a couple months back and told them about this one feature/issue. Wondering if it was too late to implement or if you can in fact change white balance while it's recording now. For me, this would be huge.
3) It's becoming clear that it's impossible to shoot 4k internally in APS-C crop mode. Not enough pixels. I get it. Curious what happens when you have a APS-C lens on there, is the 4K internal option just greyed out? Not important, just curious.
4) I know AF has improved with 169 AF points vs. 25 from the A7s, just wanna confirm that the center lock AF has also improved as it's "pretty good" but not always great on the A7s.
5) Gamma Display Assist is a cool new feature (programmable to a shortcut button!) that allows you to seemingly toggle on and off certain built in "looks" to make it easier to see the end result of your footage when using SLOG3. Can this gamma display assist "look" be toggled on and off DURING recording? And secondly, if it can, is it recorded onto the card, or is it just on the screen and not on the final recording much like any focus assist would not be recorded?
6) Is is "weather sealed"? Or how is it different in terms of weather sealing vs A7s and A7RII?
Thank you so much!
I'll pay it forward and answer any questions y'all might have when I'm out at NAB next year.
