Are we sorted for Snow Leopard?

Hey,

So I got Snow Leopard today - I'd been avoiding it b/c of the problems people were having, but picked it up for the family macs.

I've been doing some googling and I think we're ok for it now, but I'm still getting confused by all the file names banded about, so please can someone just confirm if we're ok now.

1 - I downloaded the SXS driver 10450050.

It said this is for the SXS Pro cards, but it seems for all SXS in SnowL?

2 - I also downloaded XDCAM Transfer 2.1.1 which is meant to be good for Snow Leopard.

However on the DVInfo post I saw this was dated TODAY.

And yet I also just downloaded XDCAM Transfer 2.5.1 which is dated a month ago.

So I'm confused what is going on - what do I need to install to get my EX1 all happy when I install Snow Leopard? It seems weird.

I also read I need to uninstall the SXS driver first - any idea how?

Cheers!
a x

The XDCAM transfer you want 2.11 which is available here from yesterday

I updated mine today and it is working very well with Snow Leopard, super fast and all the thumbnails work.

Its the last one on list;
XDCAM
XDCAM Transfer for Final Cut Pro PDZK-P1
PDZK-P1-V2_11.zip
Software which converts MXF files or SxS MP4 files to QuickTime files for Apple Final Cut Pro.

Great, thanks a lot!

Do I also need to uninstall the sxs driver then re-install the new one too? If so, do I uninstall pre or post upgrading?

Andrew make sure you read the read me files for this as it says: FAM Driver software bundled with XDCAM Transfer 2.11.0 is not supported in Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

And yes you have to uninstall older SxS drivers. There is an uninstall app that comes with updated drivers when you download them.

I think when the EX1R is released next month you will see new software also. We have to wait.

Cool thanks for the heads up. Although I must admit, I have no idea what a FAM driver is, I just let install all that stop and prey heh.
