Are T2i Batteries Compatible with the 60D?

I have the t2i with three batteries for it.

That is one reason I won't be "upgrading".

But I can name a couple for upgrading.

*Articulating Screen
*Iso increments
*Manual Audio
*Manual White balance temperature settings

And overall it just feels a lot more solid + professional. I loved my t2i as it is an excellent camera, but I just got my new 60d today and I must say it's just more professional. From the menu options to button layouts, it just feels very very nice. Nothing wrong with the t2i as it is an amazing camera, but the Canon 60d is simply better.

It better be for a few hundred more! :D

Speaking of batteries, while I did find out that the T2i batteries are not compatible, I did read that the 7D's and 60D's batteries are. But then I was reading something yesterday and got the impression that they weren't. Can someone verify?

I sold my T2i and bought a 60D and I would say it is worth it for the viewfinder alone! Much bigger and canon makes interchangeable focus screens. I got the EF-S super precision matte screen and I can see DOF down to F2 and below. I could never consistently hit focus with my 35 F2 MF lens. Now it is right on every time.

So why isn't the Canon 7d better for video than the 60d?

You see what I did there....... Just because something cost more does not make it better specifically at something. A body only Canon t2i cost $799 & a 60d $1099. That's a $300 difference that's very much worth it as soon as you even hold the camera you will notice it. When the t2i came out your only option was the 5d ( $2k+ ) 7d ( $1.5k+) and Gh1 ( $1.2k+ ). The t2i costing only $799/$899 was unheard of and was the lowest costing DSLR with the excellent video options at the moment. The canon 60d is basically the camera that replaced the t2i costing less than 5d,7d and comparable in price to the gh1.

So yes it cost more, but still it is sold at an excellent price and basically the 60d is the successor of the t2i.
