Apple's Insomnia Contest

I and a group of friends made a musical for this contest because we've always wanted to try it out. It's rough in some places, but we learned a lot out of a no time schedule. Plus, one of us geniuses was dumb enough to suggest that we build a DIY jib the night before, keeping us up all night. I ended up with about two hours of sleep through the 48 hours of work/snags.

I've been thinking of using laugh tracks on a cheesy sitcom with my friends but never went through with it. It was interesting to see it play out. I think, unfortunately, it is more funny if you know the people than if you've never seen them before. Still enjoyed it though.
 
"The Encounter"

Description: A misunderstanding between a shy girl and a fellow student leads to a harrowing chase...and just maybe something more.

We used 6 elements from the required list
-Dutch angle
-"Don't tempt me"
-Match cuts
-Radio static
-Name: Robin Darjeeling
-Park Bench

Overall I thought it worked out okay. There are a few things I wish we could redo but I'm happy for the most part. Let me know what you guys think and don't forget to vot on the 19th!!!

Few things I'd want to change, but ehhh... it turned out alright I suppose.

There are quite a few really good entries that I've seen, most of which are members of DVXuser. GL HF all ^.^
 
I saw one on youtube that was a big Wes Anderson rip off but very impressive given the whole 24 hour thing. About 15% of the entries I see are quality, but if there are 3,000 that means a whole lot of great ones wont make it to the finals!

I will be stunned if I make it to the finals.

My friends didn't understand the idea of "coverage" and on such limited time we didn't get everything we needed for the edit. Made it really difficult. I don't even want to post mine.

I will if it makes the top 25 but I really doubt it. The first 30 seconds are pretty polished and maybe if the judges actually get to mine it has a chance but it's unlikely.
 
hesitant to post mine also, I'm waiting till it's on apple's website because I don't want anyone to watch it before they can vote, or else they might just ignore it later.
 
I lent some equipment to Jimthejib to enter this contest since I am away on business and not using it. Hope he does well. Good luck Alex!
