Apple vs Red - Apple loses 1st round... interesting?

DATELINE, CUPERTINO CA - In a joint announcement, Apple Computer (AAPL 264.21) and Red Digital Cinema announced a next generation camera/phone; the iDrogen. The iDrogen combines all the patented technology of Apple and Red to form the most advanced user experience. During the announcement, Likasha Shanari, senior counsel for Apple, said "We've been banging our head against the courtroom walls trying to break Red when some little punk came up with the idea of not competing, but joining forces. Both Marketing departments forecasted a doubling of revenue for both companies if we shared technology rather than fight each other. That punk is going to cost a lot of attorneys their jobs."

Considering that Red is strong arming any company using ProRes Raw into paying them an additional licensing fee, it might not be so simple for Apple.

Yeah it makes me wonder if that's what forced Apple to have to go in and test the patent...

There certainly seems to be something that's stopped it rolling out....

Expect to see additional substantial price reductions with Red in 2020 (regardless of lawsuits, ongoing battles with Apple, etc.)!

Red will have to compete against FX-9 and C500 MKII.

And smart money is on Sony and Canon.
