Apple iPhone4 and iOS4.0 - Thread

I went to a store to order mine.... the computer systems were hosed because of the volume of orders. Mine never went through so they ordered it the old fashion way with paper receipt and knuckle buster card charger. I would check on it to make sure it went through.

Just logged into my AT&T account and it shows my order! It doesn't appear to be backordered either! Maybe I'll get lucky and still receive it the 24th! :)
 
I am hoping mine was under the cut as well, it was around 3pm PST. However, it still shows up in my orders this morning :) Here's hoping!
 
I think the HD video will get used a lot. Quick, family vacation stuff. I have the 8GB 3G now and I've never filled it. But I've never shot video with it either! ;)

Hey, check it out -- there's another new feature they're putting on the iPhone 4 that we haven't heard of before... AN ACTUAL ANTENNA.

Maybe all the problems with AT&T weren't actually AT&T's fault at all. The earlier iphones apparently had a much smaller antenna buried inside the case, and it may not have been adequate to the task; the new iPhone 4 has a much larger antenna outside the case. Heck, that feature alone might be justification for people to upgrade...
 
Yep, it was an overlooked feature that really caught my attention for sure! And Erik, yeah I'll be using it for that too, but figure I can off-load (just like a camera) when I need to.

You'll be ok as long as you transfer your camera videos over to your computer once a month or so. Just be glad you got your order in.

My development partner works for Apple, he said they have never seen anything like this, the demand for the new iPhone is way higher than they were anticipating and yes, heads were rolling from the server being overloaded which was their fault this time.

Off topic but did you guys check out the new mini mac on the Apple site?

I had thought the sides / entire outer case was the antenna for this phone until I read that.

I don't think so, I know Foxconn is really taking some heat right now but I'm not sure if it will effect iPhone 4 production. You guys know the pics of the white iPhone from out of China that were on the internet a while back? The employee that misplaced / lost it and caused the leak was one of the workers that committed suicide. They put nets around the dorms to catch falling bodies, I guess 12 or so have committed suicide from jumping off the roof.
