Apple intermediate Codec workflow

Hey guys, I was just wondering how many of you capture using the apple intermediate codec to have quicker render times while editing and how much of a difference does it make? Is it noticeable? Any problems?

I just recently read up on this and I could spare some extra disk space to enjoy some quicker render times, I just wanted to make sure I'm not going to run into any problems.

If you don't have the latest FCP or can't afford it, going AIC at 100% quality is a pretty good option, but the codec is inferior to ProRes and really doesn't conserve signifigantly more disk space by comparison.
