As well as Matrox with the MXO2 and other Pro Video developers.I bet the SxS engineering group at Sony is pissed though...

Agreed 1,000%. Don't let the manufacturer control you. Buy the product that does what you want, and if the manufacturer won't give you what you want, screw 'em. Someone else will make what you want.I'm not sure how much more it is going to take to make Mac users realise that they are working on a platform designed by those who care more about how it looks than how it works.
They havn't specifically dropped support for SxS, they dropped support for all ExpressCard devices.
If they clearly don't want your business why would you continue to support them. Your stuck with a single vendor for you whole suite of options, if that one vendor decides to do something like this, you don't have any options. PCs may have their own suite of issues, but you won't see Express Cards going away from laptops, even some netbooks have them.

I have to say Guy, I can see myself possibly on a PC on AVID sometime in the next few years (shudder). You have have to understand, I owned an audio post facility for four years, all PC-based and I swore up and down that PCs and especially Microshaft were the spawn of Satan. I lost years off of my life, many gray hairs and all nighters because of PCs and Windows.
Apple was a refuge from the DOS/reprogramming technical nightmares that were my business life for four years. They were simple, they worked more often (still had issues, but none that would have me on the phone at all hours of night reprogramming apps, etc.)
But I have to say, it looks as if Apple is slowly foresaking pro users. If I go PC again with Avid or Premier (shudder), I will be using a VAR and paying thousands of dollars per year to deal with the PC issues because I can't take it. So from a business standpoint, switching to PC will cost me a LOT more than I pay now to use Apples. But it will be worth it to have a machine that is supported and the programs that continue to improve and evolve.
Hopefully I am wrong and Snow Leopard and FCS3 will bring new hope. But this WWDC seems to indicate a bleak future for Apple pro users.
